The Beachwalk tour is offered by the Town of Fort Myers Beach Parks and Recreation Department and is free of charge. The tour is approximately one hour in length and departs from Newton Park at 9:00 AM on Wednesdays. The tour includes a walk on Fort Myers Beach with your host biologist where shells, sealife and whatever nature washes ashore with each new tide is discovered and identified as you learn about the ecology of how our “living beach” works, from the sand dunes to the sand bar. At the conclusion of the walk, visitors are welcome to tour the 1950s era Seven Seas cottage at Newton Park and view the extensive seashell collection inside.
